Appearance
Reif is a hippocamp that resembles a seahorse and coral. Her body is a light yellowish green, and her mane is a soft orange fin that travels all the way down her back and tail. She also has fins of orange and blue wrapping around her face and down her chin. She has three blue spots on each of her legs, and bright blue eyes, as well as an orange blaze.
Magical Gift
Reif is a hippocamp, so she is obviously able to breathe and swim underwater.[1]
Relationships
Foals and Crab
Reif and a group of foals have gathered around a crab on the sandy bottom of a lagoon. The crab stands, holding a bit of seaweed in one claw. It appears as if the crab is explaining something to the class. The foals are gathered in a half-circle. They are very interested in what the crab is doing.[2]
The Name Game
Although Reif is indeed a Scottish name, it is more likely that Reif's name is inspired by the word "reef," as in "coral reef."
