No one knows what the shadow path looks like because no one who has opened their eyes while traveling it has lived to tell the tale! [1]

History

The Shadow Path is a horrible road made of dark magic that cuts across North of North. It can take you wherever you want to go very quickly, but it is also very dangerous and even haunted. [1]

To enter the shadow path, you have to know where one of the hidden entrances are located. There are many around Styginmoor Castle, but only Ivenna and her wolf riders know of them. The wolves guard it with the ghosts of their dead. Only their kind may travel it and live. [2]

Once you enter the shadow path, you must keep your eyes closed, as opening them could drive you mad instantly. While you travel, you might hear horrible sounds, like screams and crying, and the sounds of mysterious creatures breathing right behind you! But you mustn't open your eyes even then!

The path will make those who travel it feel very tired and weak very fast, trying to slow them down and get them to fall asleep, which will lead to their doom, or open their eyes.

Many people, animals, and wolves have fallen prey to the tricks of the shadow path. They have gone missing and never returned or heard from again. Only the bravest, or most evil, of beings can travel the path safely.

A few who are known for traveling the paths are Ivenna and her mount Myrfor. Conall also managed to travel the path safely to help Jillian Frouda and find Bella in the book series. [1][3]
