Appearance
Farfalla is a small butterfly-winged mare. She appears a little overweight, like a Shetland pony. Her wings are beautiful iridescent blue and purple, like a swallow-tailed butterfly’s. She is also pinto, with coloring is in various shades of purple. Her main and tail match her body's coloring.[1]
Personality
Farfalla's students are just beginning their flight training, and so they stand on the ground jumping and flapping their wings as Farfalla instructs them with loving, motherly patience. At this moment, however, Farfalla is looking up with a surprised expression. At the very top of the picture, we see that one of her students has taken off with expected speed with a flying talent that is much more developed than the others.[2]
The Name Game
The word "farfalla" is an Italian word meaning butterfly, and is often used to describe bowtie, or butterfly, pasta.[3]
