Appearance
Persephone is a cream mare with a white mane and tail. Echoing the Greek myth behind her name, she has two sides: goddess of spring and queen of the underworld. As the goddess of spring, Persephone's mane is decorated with pink flowers and trailing pink ribbons. As queen of the underworld, she holds a scepter and has blue ribbons tied to her tail.[1]

In Greek mythology, Persephone is the daughter of Zeus and Demeter. She is described as the formidable, venerable, majestic queen of the underworld, who carries into effect the curses of men upon the souls of the dead. She becomes the queen of the underworld through her abduction by and subsequent marriage to Hades, the god of the underworld. [2]
