The “Ancient Lights” Series is the 4th Bella Sara set first introduced in October 2007[1] and was a North America and Scandinavia only release.[2][3]
This was the first Bella Sara series to have all-new artwork and horses not reused from the original Bella Silver, Gold, Copper, or Wise Warriors series. In November of 2007, "Ancient Lights" was combined with "Northern Lights" and released in Europe as "Mythology".
The Legendary Horse, Nike, made her debut in this series and would go on to make multiple appearances in following series.[4]
Story
The goddess of North of North, Sara, named each and every horse residing in this mystical land. The herd of "Ancient Lights" horses are named after the brave mythical figures of Greek and Roman legend on Earth. Long ago, North of North was home to the valiant Valkyrie Sisterhood lead by the brave Sigga who adored horses and was Sara's closest friend. Sigga personally cared for the "Ancient Lights" and "Northern Lights" horses for many years and unified Trail's End during her life.
Sadly, Sigga broke the rules of the sisterhood and fell in love with a mortal man. She was banished to Earth, and the great Valkyrie Sisterhood weakened without their leader. The horses once under Sigga's care were scattered across the land, sea, and sky. Both horses and Valkyrie now wait for someone to unify them and restore Trail's End and the sisterhood to its former glory.[5]
Appearance
"Ancient Lights" cards are pink with repeating square patterns and leaves along the border: this design would be reused in the "Mythology" set. The difference between "Ancient Lights" and "Mythology" is the card numbering: "Mythology" is numbered out of 110 whereas "Ancient Lights" is out of 55. The series features horses named from various Greek and Roman mythological figures.
There is a total of 81 cards: 28 common cards, 17 rare cards, 10 energy cards, 17 foil cards, and 9 promo cards.[3] Also included are activity cards that include various games that can be played with the cards as well as fun facts.
Shiny cards have a rainbow "Flat" design along the card's background.

"Ancient Lights" cards come in booster packs that contain 7 trading cards: 5-6 common cards, 1-2 rare cards, 0-1 energy cards.
