Appearance

Potawatomi is a bright red pegasus stallion with a dark muzzle and legs.[1] His mane is cut short near his forehead but is long along his neck. On his side and flank are yellow, red, and brown markings in the shape of decorative circles and two handprints. His impressive color and plumage match his animal companion, the Cardinal.[1]

Personality

"Potawatomi’s message involves the positive effect of a positive attitude. Try to give others the gift of your good cheer."[1][2]

Magical Gift

As a pegasus, Potawatomi can fly.

Relationships

Cardinal

Potawatomi's closest friend is the cardinal. Both share a similar coloring, and enjoy soaring through the skies together.

The Name Game

"The tribe this steed was based on are located in the Great Lakes region of the northern U.S. Culturally related to the Ojibwas, Chippewas, Ottowas, and part of the Anisinabe nation. The Potawatomi people hunted, fished and farmed in the Great Lakes region. They built bark and mat covered dwellings called wigwams. They raised beans, corn, melons, squashes, and tobacco. They built birch-bark canoes. After contact with European settlers and traders, they traded furs for iron pots and pans, European fabrics, metal buttons, and guns and gunpowder. Today the Potawatomi live on tribal landholdings throughout the Midwest U.S."[3]
