Appearance
Janus is a two-headed steed. His body is brown, with white markings on his legs. His manes and tails are dark brown, and he has a light colored swirl on his flank. He also wears a necklace of a gold double chain and blue beads. His mane and tail appear to trail sparkling light behind him as he moves.[1]
Personality
Janus always tries to do his best in everything he does! He believes in confronting what is frightening and trying new things. [2]
The Name Game
In Roman mythology, Janus was the god of beginnings, gates, transitions, time, duality, doorways, passages, and endings. He is usually depicted as having two faces since he looks to the future and to the past. It is conventionally thought that January is named for Janus.[3]
