Appearance
Amia has two designs: her initial design from Treasures and her redesign from Amia and the Ice Gems.
Her initial design, similar to the later redesign, features a jewel on her forehead and her treasure, the Binding Stone. However, her body is jade green with darker legs and snout, and her mane and tail are various shades of blue. She also has a short mane in her old design.
Amia's new design is a beautiful blue-gray filly with a navy mane and tail. She has a single, beautiful emerald in her forehead that "perfectly [matches] Jewel's." Her eyes are a light emerald color and are "full of fun and mischief."[1] She always wears the Binding Stone around her neck, which allows her to bond on a deeper level with those who promise to forever be her friend. [2]
Personality
Amia is a playful, fun-loving filly who is extremely loyal to her friends, especially her bonded ones. [3]
Relationships
Jewel and Rodin
Amia's parents are Jewel, Patron of Herd Islandar, and Rodin. Jewel does her best to raise her daughter to be a polite young filly, which includes the occasional scolding.[4]
Valor
Valor is Amia's sibling.
Gertrude
Gertrude knows Jewel well, so she also knows Amia. She accompanies Shine and Amia on their quest to find ice gems and Amia seems to enjoy her company. Maybe it's because of all the snacks Gertrude gives her.[5]
Shine Anders
Amia meets Shine on the day of the grand opening of Shine's family's jewelry shop, and she and Shine instantly hit it off. Shine becomes Amia's first ever rider when both become frustrated at the taunting of the arrogant Jeremiah Marshall and his horse, Champion, whom they race against and win. After an Auroborus ice storm that night, they head out toward Mount Whitemantle to look for ice gems. Along the way, they pit themselves against a band of treasure hunters to rescue the kidnapped king of Herd Valeryk and his magical friends. Eventually, they swear an oath of friendship on the Binding Stone.[5]
Sleetmane
Amia meets Sleetmane when she, Shine, and Gertrude come across the treasure hunters' camp. She assists in his and the glowball pooches' rescue and afterwards Sleetmane and Amia are shown to have grown fond of each other.[6]
The Name Game
The name "Amia" is of French origin and means "beloved".[7] It is also very close in spelling to the French word "amie" which translates to "friend".[8]
Trivia
Amia was featured as the main character in Amia and the Ice Gems. The book featured her new redesign by Jennifer L Meyer.

'I guess she didn't want to go out without you."
