Appearance
Islandar was a red, green, and white striped hippocamp with white wings and two black horns. Their mane consisted of red, black and white spikes instead of hair, their underbelly is green, and their hooves, the tip of their tale, and on the upper and lower parts of their backside are red and blue fins. [1]
Personality
Islandar was a kind horse who valued gentleness, honesty, friendship, and love. With these values in mind, Islandar founded Herd Islandar.
Magical Gift
As a hippocamp and winged horse, Islandar could swim and possibly fly.
History
Islandar was one of the 10 first-born foals of Herd Bellasara. Sara asked the young Islandar if they would like to become a leader of their own herd; when Islandar agreed, they were immediately aged into an adult and gifted the wisdom and maturity to be a great leader. Sara helped them find a mate, and with Sara's blessing, Islandar and their new mate traveled to the Islands of Equinesia and established Herd Islandar.[2]
When Sigga and the The Valkyries formed, Sara gave Islandar a magical pendant that allowed them to communicate with Sigga and other herd leaders across North of North.
When Sigga left North of North, Feral and the Wolf Riders attacked Rolandsgaard Castle, and Islandar tragically lost their life defending the castle. With Islandar's death, Herd Islandar's magical pendant also disappeared.[3]
Relationships
Bella and the Herd Founders
Islandar was a foal in Bella's original herd before they were blessed by Sara alongside Sunflower, Airistos, Valeryk, Shahazar, Moonfairy, Starlight, Pantheon, Elemyn, and Mustang.
Unnamed Mate
In The Bella Sara Ultimate Guide, Sara helps each of the Herd Founders find a mate before setting off to establish their own herds. The name of Islandar's mate is unknown, but it is implied that they had many children who would populate Herd Islandar and beyond.
The Name Game
Islandar is most likely a play off of the word "islander."
