"Foals"
"Foals" is an unreleased prototype series that was advertised back in 2012 but never saw a full release.[1] [2]
In a private message conversation with Bella Sara creator, Gitte Odder Brændgaard, she revealed that only a few trial sets were printed in 2013 but never sold in stores. She hopes to properly offer the cards for sale someday, but for now, several of these prototype sets have made their way into the hands of a few collectors making "Foals" cards some of the rarest cards in the Bella Sara franchise.[3]
In 2016, the card design from "Foals" was repurposed as promotional material for the "Foals - 2017 Promos" series.
Appearance
"Foals" cards are light pink cards with a brown hummingbird in the upper left corner. In the upper right corner of each card is the royal crest of the herd an individual foal belongs to.
The cards are printed on thicker cardstock similar in thickness to the original "Bella Silver" series.
Although card numbers state that there are a total of 55 cards, only 45 cards were known to be printed.[4] [5]
Foals Kickstarter
A Kickstarter project using artwork from the foals series was announced around the same time in 2014. It is assumed that this series may have been planned to be released alongside the project, however a direct connection is unconfirmed.

Trivia
- This is the only Bella Sara series that does not include Bella herself! However, she does return in the "Foals - 2017 Promos" series.
- Although no artist credit is given, the foal cards for Fiona, Jewel, Nike, and Thunder appear to be drawn by artist Spoops as she had posted similar designs of Fiona [6] and Bella [7] on her Facebook account.
- The hummingbird that appears on the upper left corner of each card is from Hummingbird's "Royalty" card.
- Brine's card uses the crest of Herd Bellasara
instead of the proper crest of Herd Islandar
